Personal Care
Personal care staff are well-equipped to provide this kind of assistance, which allows family members to interact with their loved ones in more mutually satisfying ways.
Provides individually customised services to meet the client’s needs – hourly, short term or ongoing, 1hr to 24 hr Care, 365 days of the year provides a variety of personal care and support services, such as:
- Showering
- Dressing
- Shaving
- Oral care
- Applying makeup
- Hoist/ Lifting machine transfers
- Continence Management
- Skin Integrity Management
- Nutrition & Hydration Management
- Medication reminders
- Preparing meals and snacks
Domestic Care
We assist and or supervise the participant to perform essential house cleaning activities.
Such as:
Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens, laundry assist.
Respite Care
Friends, companionship and social outings are vital to quality of life. We can give you support so these activities stay a natural part of life. Many people have a family member or friend who provides care to help them
continue to live at home.
Community and social support
We are able to provide support to enable the participant to independently engage
in social and recreational activities. As well as get involved with the local
community.
In-Home Nursing
We provide in-home nursing or personal care services to
individuals of all ages. Our services allows your loved one to
stay in the comfort of their own home and maintain an
optimum level of independence.
Coordination of Support
Each participant receives tailored support from their Support Coordinator to implement, monitor and review their NDIS Plans.
Meal Prep
Assist to prepare and or cook meals, in accordance with the Participant’s
instruction.
Transport
ACAD arranges and provides
transport to appointments,
meetings and outings. We
have a wheelchair van we can use around the Port
Stephens area.
Personalised Disability Services
We can provide support for general tasks like house cleaning, personal care, shopping, and community access.
- The National Disability Insurance Scheme is also called the NDIS.
- The NDIS is a new way to help people with disability get the care and support they need to live a better life.
- The NDIS is for anyone with a disability. This includes people who currently receive support and those who do not.
- The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will work out if you can use the NDIS.
- The NDIA is the Australian Government agency that manages the NDIS.
You qualify to use the NDIS if you.
- Are between the ages of 0 and 64 years old
- Are an Australian citizen or resident, or have a permanent visa
- Meet the disability requirements.
- Those who are 65 years old or older will not qualify for NDIS. Instead, they will receive support through the
- Commonwealth aged care system.
